DW Fic Recommendations
Since I’m dabbling in writing a bit of DW fic, I thought I’d post my favorite DW fics by other authors. Because there’s a ton of beautiful fic out there, and you should be reading it.
I’ve organized them by author, and linked to the author’s master page, because each of these writers is truly gifted. They know how to structure story and portray characters convincingly. I have mad crazy respect for these writers, and I’d heartily recommend all of their stories, even the ones I haven’t listed individually on this page.
All stories are Ten/Rose unless otherwise specified. They may or may not contain smut. You’ve been warned.

- “Non-Linear Love Story” - THIS. STORY. IS. FLAWLESS. Go read it right now. You need this story like you need air.
- “Some Slightly Unusual Mistakes” - A cute, clever take on some old cliches.
- “Coaster Castles” - After Voyage of the Damned, the Doctor seeks comfort from Rose.
- “Of Love and Waffles” - Unfinished, but still worth a read. Nine’s Rose gets time-switched with Ten’s Rose. Perfect characterization for the Ninth Doctor, Tenth Doctor, and older and younger Rose.
- “Scratching the Itch” - The Doctor gets bitten by a bug and can only concentrate on one thing.
- “Evidently Deviltown” - This is a visually messy work in progress, but OH MY SWEET MERCY. Vampire AU done so, so very right.
- “In Human Hands” - Nine/Rose. Y’all know this one, right? Rallalon’s unfinished opus. I like it fine, but it’s not my favorite of hers. But it’s still beautifully written.

- The MasterVerse - AU where Ten, Rose and the Master travel together in the TARDIS. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this series. And it isn’t skeevy in that way - no smut - so don’t worry if that’s not your thing. It’s hilarious and zany and everything a Doctor/Rose/Master BBC sitcom should be.
- “The Girl on the Horse” - How “Girl in the Fireplace” should have ended. Seriously, orangecrushed should’ve written this episode, not Moffat.
- “Day is Done” - Angsty angst that angsts (*le happy sigh*). Short and sweet.
- “The Man in the Moon” - TenToo/Rose. I don’t know how to describe it without giving anything away, but it’s TenToo/Rose happy and domestic with a twist.
- Monsters ‘Verse - AU DW/BtVS crossover, Rose as the vampire, the Doctor as slayer. Sounds odd, but she really makes it work.

- “Days and Hours” - Beautiful, perfect AU Doctor/Rose reunion after Doomsday. Quick and sweet. Involves dairy.
- “The Devil You Know” - TenToo/Rose. All is not well in Pete’s world after the Doctor and Donna leave in the TARDIS. This really could’ve been an episode, it’s so well done.
- Amor Mundi - Part One - Part Two - Part Three - This is gorgeous. The Master meets his match when he confronts Rose and the Bad Wolf.
- “In Good Spirits” - TenToo/Rose, finally getting to the heart of the matter thanks to some alcohol.
- “Songs of Innocence and Experience” - Rose meets Amy Pond. I didn’t think I’d like it, but it’s lovely and both women are so in-character, it won me over.
- “But Broken Lights” - Fun adventure with just the right amount of angst. Multi-chapter.

- “Behind Closed Doors” - TenToo/Rose. Angst does not come any better than this. Seriously. Get the Kleenex right now. (And I wish this wasn’t my head!canon, but it kinda is. Because it’s so beautifully painful.)
- “In Vino Veritas” - TenToo/Rose + alcohol. Always an eventful combination.
- “Hair of the Dog” - TenToo/Rose. Sequel to “In Vino Veritas.”
